    Soybean meal is a co-product of the soybean oil milling process. Soybean meal serves as an excellent protein source for beef cattle diets and is often the "gold standard" protein supplement to which other feed supplements are compared.     Soybean hulls are a co-product of the soybean oil milling process and are widely used in Mississippi beef cattle diets. Soybean hulls are a relatively good energy source, particularly in forage-based diets. At feeding levels of 0.5 percent body weight or less, on high forage-based diets, soybean hulls are roughly equal to corn as a supplement in terms of nutritive value.
